Jean Marc Poirier
Jean Marc Poirier is a native of the Magdalen Islands, situated between PEI and Cape Breton on the Atlantic Ocean, and spent nearly a decade living in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia. After spending most of his life in the fishing industry, he began carving folk art – birds, animals, and his well-known "bag ladies." Jean Marc has since retired from carving, and has relocated back to the Magdalen Islands (Iles de la Madeleine).
